RoboCop is a popular American media franchise that began with the 1987 RoboCop film directed by Paul Verhoeven. The film takes place in a futuristic Detroit where crime has taken over the city. Focusing on police officer Alex Murphy who is killed by a gnag of criminals and revived as the cyborg enforcer RoboCop.
